Every project starts with a drawing: a quick sketch on a blank piece of paper, and everything begins there. In this case, it both began and culminated there. A simple black-on-white drawing laid the foundation for one of our iconic products, giving rise to the Sketch. A well-designed object is universally understandable, allowing the product to speak for itself.
It communicates in a universal language: the language of design.
We drew inspiration from primitive signs, simple drawings and lines, and classical shapes. Using one material—polycarbonate—in a single size of 40.5 mm, we incorporated two colors: black and white. On these, we hand-drew lines that are imprecise, playful, and human. Here it is, a timeless icon, crafted to stand out.
