Maison Veuve Clicquot unveiled a limited edition for La Grande Dame 2018, designed by French designer Simon Porte Jacquemus. This collaboration honors the craftsmanship and heritage of Maison Veuve Clicquot, founded in 1772.
The limited edition of the 2018 vintage is characterized by a yellow label with irregular edges and a handwritten logo, referencing the iconic label that has been a staple since 1877. The bottle is wrapped in white linen embroidered with yellow calligraphy, evoking an old Italian technique for cooling bottles. This method involves soaking a cloth in water and wrapping it around the bottle to maintain its coolness on hot summer days.
The bottle is presented in a box covered with "toile du Marais" fabric and adorned with a ribbon alternating between the Veuve Clicquot logo and Simon Porte Jacquemus' signature.
Tasting Notes
BALANCE, FINESSE, TENSION
La Grande Dame 2018 offers a sensation of ideal balance, with great intensity for this vintage.
Its color is bright and luminous, reflecting its sunny vintage.
Its deep and precise character is marked by finesse and a subtle freshness, expressed through its salinity. Intense aromas unfold in a delicate fragrance of citrus—lemon, lime, yuzu—blended with white fruits, enhanced by spring and floral notes.
