Small 9-hectare vineyard, this estate is commonly known as “Château Lagrange à Pomerol” to distinguish it from its Médoc namesake, Château Lagrange in Saint-Julien.
Located in the northern part of the Pomerol plateau, the estate lies on heavy clay soils covered with gravel — a terroir particularly well suited to the expression of Merlot, the grape variety that makes up the entirety of the vineyard.
Owned by Établissements Jean-Pierre Moueix since 1953, Château Lagrange à Pomerol produces wines that fully express the richness and depth of Merlot, in a style that is generous, supple, and elegant.
