Founded in 1942 by Don Julio González, the Don Julio house began distilling its 100% agave tequila in 1949. In 1987, to celebrate 45 years of production, the first premium aged tequila was created under the name Don Julio Reposado. In 2002, to mark the house’s 60th anniversary, Don Julio 1942 was launched on the market. Made from a selection of the finest blue agaves, this tequila undergoes an extended ageing period of two and a half years in bourbon barrels and is distilled in small stills, giving it a smooth texture and delicate spicy notes. It is offered here in a 5 cl format for discovery.
