The Pioneer of Single-Varietal Rums Celebrates 25 Years with a Collector’s Edition
An undisputed icon of Martinique’s rum heritage, CLÉMENT Canne Bleue 2025 Vintage White Agricultural Rum (50%) embodies the excellence and innovative spirit of Maison Clément. Launched at the dawn of the new millennium, the Canne Bleue cuvée was the first rum in the world made exclusively from a single sugarcane variety: the famous blue cane, Saccharum officinarum B69.566, renowned for its extraordinary aromatic concentration.
The 2025 vintage holds special significance, celebrating the 25th anniversary of this exceptional story. Presented in an exclusive collector’s bottle, this AOC Martinique white agricultural rum pays tribute to a quarter-century of passion, terroir and technical precision.
The Crafting Process: The Pure Essence of Exceptional Sugarcane
What gives Clément Canne Bleue 2025 its remarkably vivid and authentic aromatic profile is the result of meticulous expertise:
Single-Variety Selection: Harvested for its sun-ripened aromas and exceptional sugar content, the blue cane, with its beautiful purplish hues, produces a pure juice of incomparable vegetal freshness.
Creole Column Distillation: The fresh sugarcane juice is distilled in copper Creole columns, allowing its full aromatic richness to be revealed and preserved.
Slow Reduction and Tank Resting: After distillation, the rum rests for approximately six months in stainless-steel vats. It undergoes a very gradual reduction with spring water, along with regular aeration and stirring, softening the alcohol level to 50% ABV while enhancing the cane’s natural aromas.
Tasting Notes
Appearance: Clear, crystalline and brilliantly bright, attesting to its purity.
Nose: Intense, lively and highly vegetal. The first impression reveals vibrant notes of freshly cut sugarcane, lime zest and tender grass, enhanced by subtle floral touches of orange blossom.
Palate: Full-bodied, round and remarkably fresh. The palate offers a smooth, oily texture, with pronounced flavors of sweet sugarcane juice, fresh citrus and lightly peppery, spicy nuances. The 50% ABV supports the aromas with remarkable clarity.
Finish: Long, clean and refreshing. The finish lingers on notes of freshly cut grass, sweet spices and a delicate mineral imprint.
