Château Cos d'Estournel 2ème Cru Classé Saint-Estèphe 2011 - 75 cl
The Cos d'Estournel estate, classified as a 2nd Cru Classé, is a must-see on the Médoc's wine tourism route. Its reputation is due not only to the quality of its wines but also to its winery and vat room, modernized in 2008 by architect Jean-Michel Wilmotte. Since 2000, Michel Reybier has been the owner, supported by director Charles Thomas. The vineyard, covering 91 hectares and planted on clay-limestone gravel soils, consists of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 38% Merlot, and 2% Cabernet Franc. The vinifications are orchestrated by oenologist Eric Boissenot.
Enthusiasts particularly appreciate this cru for its rich wines with an impressive tannic structure. Powerful and indulgent, they reveal intense fruit due to the strong presence of Merlot, along with spicy and toasted bread notes. These wines offer excellent aging potential.
The estate also offers Cos d’Estournel Blanc, Les Pagodes de Cos (in red and white), and G d’Estournel. In 2023, they acquired Château Cos Labory, with advice from oenologist Axel Marchal.
