For over two centuries, Johnnie Walker has established itself as a master in whisky craft, developing exceptional expertise. It all began in 1820 when John Walker opened a small fine grocery in Kilmarnock, Scotland. Faced with the inconsistency in the quality of available whiskies, he was inspired by blending techniques used for tea to create a uniquely flavored whisky, richer and more balanced, thus marking the origin of the art of blending. Since those beginnings, the brand with the square bottle and the iconic top-hatted character has continuously reinvented itself.
In 1857, Alexander Walker launched the Old Highland Blend, solidifying the brand's identity. Then, in 1908, renowned illustrator Tom Browne brought the now-famous "Striding Man" to life. The introduction of Red and Black Label whiskies further diversified the offering. The acquisition of the Cardhu distillery in 1893 was a key moment in Johnnie Walker's evolution.
By the 1950s, Johnnie Walker had become the best-selling whisky in the world, a status it maintains to this day. New creations frequently enrich the range, including labels like Green, Double Black, Blue, Gold, and Platinum, not to mention limited editions that delight enthusiasts and collectors.
