Eminente Reserva is a 7-year-old rum, characterized by remarkable richness and structure, with an exceptionally long finish. Born from the limitless talent and passion of César Martí, this unique rum draws inspiration from the traditions of 19th-century Cuban rum. It stands out with its generous structure and rich aromas, adding unique complexity through the art of blending aguardientes, the highly aromatic Cuban cane eaux-de-vie.
Produced from molasses distilled at 75% ABV and aged in white oak barrels that previously held whisky, these aguardientes are then combined with light Cuban rum, distilled at 95% ABV, before being aged again. This process of blending aguardientes and light rums is essential to creating the Cuban rum we know. The aguardientes contribute subtlety and depth of aroma, while the light rum, with its alcohol content, brings vitality.
By emphasizing these refined eaux-de-vie, Eminente offers with Reserva an innovative rum, composed of 70% aged aguardientes, the highest proportion among all Cuban rums.
Tasting Notes:
Nose: Opens with freshly roasted coffee aroma, transitioning to softer notes of dulce de leche, roasted almond, and cocoa.
Appearance: Amber color with mahogany hues.
Palate: Structured, rich, and full. It reveals smoky vanilla, coffee, and raspadura (unrefined cane sugar), with spicy notes of ginger and Sichuan pepper, alongside a hint of prune.
Finish: Chocolate, smoked molasses, almond, and pear.
