Origin of cocoa: El Salvador
Type of chocolate: Fruity & Tangy
Tasting notes: Fresh citrus and caramel notes
Salvadorans are great consumers of their own cocoa, which explains why few chocolatiers have had the chance to work with it!
Located in a lush forest, crossed by a crystal-clear water source, Hacienda Comalapa produces exceptional cocoa using agroforestry, without any pesticides. This demanding work is carried out with passion by the owner Luis and his team. Thanks to our sourcing partner Belco, which is involved in sustainable and enduring projects around coffee and cocoa in El Salvador, the first bags of this rare cocoa arrived in Le Havre in 2022.
This chocolate will surprise you with its fresh and tangy citrus notes, counterbalanced by a soft and creamy finish with notes of blueberries and caramel.
