Originally created for MASTARI’s 3rd anniversary, our BOUGIE WOUGIE hot sauce was such a hit that we decided to keep it in the family! A recipe featuring the famous Carolina Reaper pepper and strawberry. Pair it with anything that needs waking up. Heat level: 9/10 (Approx. Scoville: ~500,000 SHU) Net volume: 100 mL Ingredients:
Carolina Reaper pepper (21.7%), strawberry purée, apple cider vinegar, distilled vinegar (contains sulfites), habanero pepper (13.1%), lemon juice, salt, brown sugar, xanthan gum (plant-based stabilizer) Pairing suggestions:
- Creamy cheeses (goat, brie): the creaminess tames the Reaper’s heat and highlights the strawberry.
- Duck or pork: the vinegar’s acidity and fruit cut through the richness of the meat.
- Salads (arugula, feta): adds a fruity, spicy kick to a summer vinaigrette.
